4SmartStreets is in the streets!

On June 28th, 2016 the first deep learning cyclist counter with public screen 4SmartStreets started to recognize and count bicycles on Latvian streets, analysing the cyclist traffic flow in Ogre city.

Latvian Cyclist Union’s president Viesturs Silenieks stresses the importance of the such products as 4SmartStreets for smart, data driven decisions, that are based on precise, factual data that one can analyse against the weather, events in the country or compare the cyclist traffic flow with pedestrian and car traffic flow. Mr Silenieks also sees the benefit in the public screen as advertisement for cyclist culture as such,”once a anyone sees the public data of numbers of cyclists increasing everyday, they are assured that more and more people cycle and that it is an great, alternative way for commuting”.
